Frequently Asked Questions

Who Needs a Fiscal Cash Register?

A fiscal cash register is mandatory for certain types of businesses, depending on the legal regulations of the country where you operate. In Croatia, as well as in many other countries, fiscalization is required for retail businesses, service providers, and more.

  1. Retail Businesses
Stores, kiosks, supermarkets, and other retail locations that issue invoices for goods sold to customers must use a fiscal cash register. This includes physical stores and online shops that deliver or sell directly.
  2. Service Providers
Hairdressers, beauticians, repair services, restaurants, cafés, and hotels must use fiscal cash registers to properly record service transactions.
  3. Education & Healthcare
Private tutors, trainers, therapists, doctors, and dentists who charge for their services may also be required to use a fiscal cash register, depending on legal regulations.
  4. Online Stores
E-commerce businesses that sell goods or services online must use a fiscal cash register for all transactions, regardless of payment method (credit cards, online transfers, cash).
  5. Commercial Rentals & Leasing
Car rentals, apartment rentals, equipment leasing, and similar services must use a fiscal cash register to ensure compliance and accurate transaction records.
  6. Restaurants, Cafés & Hospitality
Restaurants, cafés, fast food outlets, and hotels are legally required to issue fiscal invoices for customer transactions.
  7. Transport & Tourism
Taxi services, private transportation, and travel agencies that charge for transport or travel packages must implement fiscal cash registers.
  8. All Other Businesses Charging for Goods or Services
Any entrepreneur selling goods or services that require an invoice (to individuals or businesses) must use a fiscal cash register to ensure legal compliance.
Advantages of Using a Fiscal Cash Register

A fiscal cash register is required for all entrepreneurs and legal entities engaged in activities involving the sale of goods or services and issuing invoices. If you fall into one of the previously mentioned categories, using a fiscal cash register ensures compliance with legal regulations and simplifies business operations.

Fiscalization allows for accurate tracking and archiving of all transactions, reducing the risk of fraud and financial discrepancies.

Do your cash registers have card payment options?

Yes, our fiscal cash registers offer card payment options, and we provide integrated solutions that enable easy and efficient acceptance of card payments in your business locations. Each option comes with different features and benefits, allowing you to choose the one that best suits your business needs. Check out.

Who is the owner of the device?

The owner of the fiscal cash register device depends on how the device is acquired and the agreement with the service provider. In the context of Adeo POS fiscal cash registers, there are two main ownership options:

  1. Ownership after purchasing the device (one-time purchase, 1-year warranty)
If you choose to make a one-time purchase of the POS device (fiscal cash register), you become the owner of the device. This means you are responsible for the device, its functionality, maintenance, and any repairs, while the software (license) is tied to your company or business.

Advantages:

  • The device becomes fully yours.
  • No monthly rental costs for the device.
  • Once purchased, the device can be used without limitations, except for legal changes that may require software updates.

Disadvantages:

  • Higher initial cost when purchasing the device.
  • Device maintenance (repairs, part replacements) is your responsibility.

  1. Device Rental
If you choose to rent the device, it remains the property of Adeo POS. In this case, you pay a monthly fee to use the device, but it is not legally yours.

Advantages:

  • Lower initial cost since you don’t need to buy the device right away.
  • Maintenance, repairs, and device replacement (if it breaks) are usually covered by the service provider.
  • The service provider often offers technical support and software updates.

Disadvantages:

  • Monthly rental cost for the device.
  • At the end of the rental period, you must return the device to the service provider or replace it with a new one.

Conclusion:
If you choose to purchase the device, you become the owner of the device.
If you choose to rent the device, the device remains the property of the service provider, and you only use it under the rental agreement.

When selecting an option, you should consider your business’s specific needs, initial capital, and the pros and cons of each option.

Is there an option to integrate data from the application with accounting services?

Yes, there is an option to integrate data from Adeo POS fiscal cash registers with accounting services and accounting software. This integration enables the automatic transfer of data from the cash register to accounting programs, significantly simplifying the bookkeeping process and reducing the possibility of human error.

Integration with Accounting Software:
Adeo POS fiscal cash registers allow integration with popular accounting software such as Synesis and Minimax, enabling the following:

  • Automatic Data Transfer: Transactions and issued invoices from Adeo POS cash registers are automatically transferred to the accounting software, eliminating the need for manual data entry.

  • Faster and More Accurate Processing: All sales, tax, return, and revenue data are automatically transferred to the accounting software, saving time and reducing the possibility of errors.

  • Customization and Personalization: Depending on the specifics of your business, the integration can be tailored to meet all legal requirements and business processes.

  • Compliance with Legal Regulations: Integration ensures that all data complies with tax laws and regulations, including VAT reporting and other necessary reports.

Benefits of Integration with Accounting:

  • Time Savings: The automatic transfer of data into accounting software reduces the need for manual entry, saving time and increasing productivity.

  • Greater Accuracy: Data is automatically transferred, minimizing the possibility of errors during data entry.

  • Compliance with Regulations: Automatic alignment of data with legal and tax requirements ensures that your business remains fully compliant.

How the Integration Works:

  1. Invoice Creation at the Cash Register: When your cash register issues an invoice, the transaction data (amount, taxes, discounts, etc.) is automatically sent to the connected accounting system.

  2. Data Processing: The accounting software processes this data and automatically enters it into the appropriate categories, such as revenue, taxes, expenses, and other relevant information.

  3. Reports and Records: Based on the transferred data, the software generates reports necessary for tax filings, financial statements, and business analysis.

Conclusion:
Integrating data from Adeo POS fiscal cash registers with accounting software such as Synesis and Minimax is a significant step toward modernizing business operations, reducing administrative burdens, and ensuring accuracy in accounting data.

How to Pause or Cancel a Service?

If you want to pause or cancel the service associated with your Adeo POS fiscal cash register (whether it’s a license or device rental), here’s how it generally works:

  1. Pausing the Service:

Pausing the service can be useful if you want to temporarily stop using the fiscal cash register, for example, during seasonal breaks or temporary business closure.

  • Contact Customer Support: The best way is to contact Adeo POS customer support via email or phone and inform them of your request to pause the service.

  • Pause Conditions: Check the conditions for pausing the service. In case of a pause, simply notify us by phone or email, and we will temporarily disable the service until you need it again. If you have a rented device, it needs to be returned in order to stop the service and refund your deposit. There are no additional costs, except if the device is returned late, in which case rent will be charged for that period.

  • Device Return (if applicable): If you have a rented device, it may need to be returned during the pause and temporarily stop being used.

  • Resuming the Service: Once you decide to continue using the service, you can arrange with the Adeo POS team for reactivation.

  1. Canceling the Service:

If you want to permanently cancel the fiscal cash register service, here’s what you need to do:

  • Contact Customer Support: As with pausing, the first step is to contact Adeo POS customer support and inform them of your desire to cancel the service.

  • Check Cancellation Terms: It’s recommended to review the cancellation terms and policy, as they may vary depending on the type of service (e.g., monthly subscription or annual license). In some cases, the service can be canceled at the end of the billing period, while in other cases, advance notice may be required.

  • Return of the Device: If you have rented a device (e.g., Adeo POS 6, Adeo POS 11, or Adeo POS 14), the device will need to be returned. Check if you need to send the device to a specific return address or follow another procedure.

  • Cancellation Period: If you have prepaid for an annual license or have a long-term contract, check for any fees or refund policies if you decide to cancel the service before the contract ends.

  1. Recommendations and Notes:
  • Avoid Sudden Interruptions: If you plan on canceling, notify the Adeo POS team as soon as possible to avoid unnecessary charges or confusion about payments.

  • Request Confirmation: After you have paused or canceled the service, ask for confirmation of the action so you have a written record in case of any disputes.

  1. Refund Policy:

If you’ve already prepaid for a service (e.g., an annual license) and decide to cancel, review the refund policy. Usually, refunds are made according to the terms in the contract, but in some cases, you may not be eligible for a refund for the unused period.

How to Reactivate the Service?

Reactivating your Adeo POS fiscal cash register service can be a straightforward process, but it depends on the specific terms of your agreement. Here’s how you can proceed to reactivate the service:

  1. Contact Customer Support
  • Reach out to Adeo POS Team: The first step in reactivating your service is to contact Adeo POS customer support via email or phone. Inform them that you wish to reactivate your fiscal cash register service.

  1. Check the Reactivation Terms
  • Review Agreement Conditions: If you paused the service, check the terms under which reactivation is performed. In some cases, you may need to pay an additional fee or resume payments based on the conditions agreed upon during the pause.

  • Required Steps: You may need to confirm that you wish to continue the service and enable a new activation through your user details.

  1. Return or Check the Device
  • Device Return (if applicable): If you returned the device during the pause or cancellation, check if the device has all necessary settings and functionalities for reactivation.

  • Device Status: If you rented the device, verify that the device is in good condition and prepare it for reuse. You might need to contact Adeo POS to arrange for the device’s return to service or to reactivate it.

  1. Reconnection with Account and License
  • Check the License: If you were using licensed software (e.g., Adeo POS Basic, Standard, or Hospitality), verify if the license is still active or if you need to renew the subscription or license.

  • System Connection: If the service was paused, you may need to reconnect the cash register to your user account and reset any functionalities or preferences you were using before the pause.

  1. Reactivation via App or Web Platform

In some cases, you may be able to reactivate the service directly through the Adeo POS app or web platform. Simply log into your user account and select the option to reactivate the service.

  1. Check Functionality

After reactivation, it is recommended to perform a test of all functionalities (such as issuing receipts, fiscalization, and data backup) to ensure the system is working correctly and ready for use.

  1. Education and Support

If you had a break in usage, you may want to request additional training or guidance from customer support to get up to speed and ensure you understand any new features that may have been added during the pause.

Where Can I Purchase Consumables for the Printer? Paper, Toner?

All of our fiscal cash registers use thermal printers, meaning you don’t need toner, as these printers use thermal paper for printing. Here are the key details regarding the procurement and specifications of consumables for our devices:

Consumable Specifications:

  • Paper Type: All of our printers use thermal paper.

  • Paper Width: Depending on the device model, the paper width can be 57 mm or 80 mm.

  • Roll Diameter: The roll diameter for the paper that fits into the printer ranges from 40 mm to 80 mm, depending on the device.

  • Printer Lifespan: Thermal printers have a lifespan measured in kilometers, and the lifespan of our printers ranges from 50 km to 200 km, depending on the device model.

Paper Procurement:

  • Stationery Stores: You can purchase thermal paper at stores like Narodne novine or other stationery shops that sell consumables for printers and fiscal devices.

Since there’s no need to replace toner, this system provides a simple and economical way to operate, and obtaining paper is quick and easy.
